How to embed YouTube videos to a Wordpress blog
October 9th, 2007 by eddyra on WordpressWhen I tried embedding video from YouTube in my previous posts it didn’t work. It messed up my blog. So I started searching on Google and found several tutorials and tips, still had troubles with some of them, but after a few attempts I got it right.
We cannot just paste the embed code to the editor window when WYSIWYG visual post editor is on, we need to turn off the WYSIWYG. Here’s what we need to do:
1. Login to WordPress admin
2. Go to Users >> Your Profile
3. Uncheck box “Users should use the visual rich editor by default”
4. Go to Write >> Write Post
5. Paste the YouTube code in the write box
6. Save or publish
7. Back to Users >> Your Profile
8. Recheck box “Users should use the visual rich editor by default” .
9. Update Option (Save it!)

U dun need to go to chnge ur profile each time u want to insert video in WP. When u manage or write post, below the title u have the choice of ‘visual’ or ‘code’. Click on ‘code’ and paste the youtube code where u want to place. Always write post first and insert video last, just b4 publishing or it may go a little haywire.
