3 million Ringgit over the loss of her virginity? Wow!
I believe the case is not about virginity. It’s all about promise. Removing ‘the virginity’ with a promise of marriage. The idea is, the woman would be more likely to give up her virginity to a man if she had his promise to marry her.
She gave her cherry because he promised to marry her. Then this couple, following their mutual promise of love, decided to get married and legally registered their marriage. Though their marriage was registered, they never went through the Chinese customary marriage rites due to objections from the man’s parents. The parent asked their son to divorce his wife. Is this the false promises?
You know perfectly well that I am not a lawyer!
I think if ‘removal of virginity’ is charged to her husband, she may be required to submit to a virginity exam. Err.. does this make sense?
