Valentine’s Day..
February 13th, 2008 by eddyra on LifeValentine’s Day is a special day celebrated on February 14. It is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other, sending Valentine’s card, flowers, dinner and sex. Buy news paper on the following day and find out if there is a story about the close proximity to the Valentine’s Day rush.. hahaha
Err.. i never celebrated this! Why? I dont know. Everyone says valentine is for lovers, and it’s the truth. But what if you don’t have a lover? I think you may celebrate it with your cat or dog huhuhu.. can or cannot?
If I want to show love and give gifts to my love ones, why must wait till mid of February, and give the cards Happy Valentine’s Day’?
What is so important about Valentines Day?
The history behind Valentine’s Day still remains somewhat mysterious. There are a few variations on how it all started and all contain a mix of history from the Catholic Church, Rome and Europe.
According to one legend, St Valentine sent the first ‘valentine’ greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that St Valentine fell in love with a young girl who may have been his jailor’s daughter. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed ‘From your Valentine,’ an expression that is still in use today. And thats where it all started.
So, Valentine’s Day is celebrated in the middle of February to commemorate the anniversary of Valentine’s death or burial which probably occurred around 270 A.D
I think thats why I’d never celebrated Valentine’s Day, because thats not my day!

Sambut setakat nak pereratkan kasih sayang ok ape asal bukan niat memperingati atau memperbesarkan sejarah sebalik hari nye. Not that i celebrate. Some husbands don’t even remember or bother to celebrate wife’s birthdays, so a universal day like this to promote a more loving relationship is not a bad idea. That’s what i think, korang jangan shoot ok.
