Pink for girls, blue for boys
November 12th, 2007 by eddyra on LifeIt’s common that pink is for girls and blue is for boys. But have you ever wondered why? Is it because men are attracted to the pink?
According to the website didyouknow.cd, in ancient times, it was believed that certain colours could combat the evil spirits that lingered over nurseries. Because blue was associated with the heavenly spirits, boys were clothed in that colour, boys then being considered the most valuable resource to parents. Although baby girls did not have a colour associated with them, they were mostly clothed in black. It was only in the Middle Ages when pink became associated with baby girls.
Is it because of that? I dont know too, hahaha. Don’t let myths stand in your way, let’s look at the research led by Professor Anya Hurlbert of Britain’s Newcastle University.
206 volunteers between the ages of 20 and 26 were asked to select their preferred colour from
each of a series of paired coloured rectangles. Professor Hurlbert then discovered that men prefer blue and women prefer pink.
There has been a great diversity of opinion on the subject, but the generally accepted rule is pink for the boy and blue for the girl. The reason is that pink being a more decided and stronger color is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl.”

The question is, why?
