At last, I got an offer from Petronas Carigali to join the offshore installation group after attending an interview in Johor Bharu last year. Wow.. shocking news.. because I know that I failed in questionnaires session interview. But, thanks God anyway.!
If I accept the offer, I will be based in KL, KLCC. The task is I’ll be required to lead a group of several juniors (I guess junior engineer) and to monitor certain projects. The projects might be pipe coating, offshore installation and I can’t remember the rest of it. I think I can do it.
How much I will get? HR department will contact me and discuss the salary and term & condition. I’ll be issued a formal offer letter after that. If they can’t accept my proposal then what to do.. I’ll continue working as kuli in my current company. Yes I need to consider that there are pros and cons of moving from the current company to the other company. Cost of living, live apart from kids ( and wife 
), travelling, rent, yes all of that.
Now, the problem is I’ve recently been offered to be a operation leader in my current work place. They shall raise my salary and I will get more work and pressure, of course lah. I’ve learnt that this position will put me under pressure. The real pressure. I have to monitor, supervise and lead the operation team, entertain requests from offshore and onshore, become the focal point for all related issue, also become a scapegoat, info and feedback to the manager and client, bla bla bla and bla.
However, if I choose to decline this job offer then I can stay in Kemaman, live together with kids and wife. Once I accept any offer, I must not back out.

Congratulations. Kalau minat nak take up the offer, hijrah ajelah ke KL bawa famili sekali if the pay offered is good. Sometimes going to a new job may end up in pay loss due to higher expenses in the new place but you may get non-monetary benefits and satisfaction of working in a bigger and establised company. Whatever do your sums correctly and think long term. Sebaik2nya sembahyang istikharah.

aku pegi interview petronas… 1st interview kat kertih dgn polyethylene. Kat situ byk berkisar pasal technical. So aku proceed pulak dgn Structure Interview (2nd interview) kat klcc tower1 level 37. Masa interview rasa mcm nak pitam. aku rasa mengarut skali jawapan yg aku especially case studi & maths(aku bukan genius). Tgu result last skali petronas kata…”You?re Unsuccessful”….huhuhuhuhu

zhar nama HR Petronas tu fairuz ke? Tapi insyallah kalau betul-betul ada peluang, dia akan call walaupun ada email yang menyatakan kita ni gagal. Percayalah..

hi eddyra….I’m here to say thanx. read through your blog before I went for structured interview on last 26th jul. it helped a lot….at least I got tips mcm mana cara diaorang i’view. so sekarang masih tunggu result….but td I tel hr klcc tanya mcm mana result. dia tanya ada dpt email dr dia tak. i kata takde pun. so dia minta tempoh 3 hari utk check and suruh I tel dia nanti. so now I knew….those succeded peoples dah dpt reply la kot…..alahai dok sini lg la aku.

I just went for 1st interview at Petronas job related to OPI(Operating Performance Improvement), i have been informed that i was shortlisted and HR will call me for the 2nd interview where i will get the assesment also/?

believed me after one project(n of course kenal some people) you can apply move to pmo…since kat pmo ni pun melambak kosong…kijer kat offshore ker ok gak…tapi kena gak ah bertahan setahun dua…n sometimes blh mutual transfer if there somebody nak balik kl….
