Site visit at Cakerawala Platform..

Pada 15th December 2008 buat pertama kalinya aku menjejakkan kaki ke Cakerawala Platform, hak milik Carigali Hess Operating Company Sdn Bhd (CHOC) join venture Malaysia and Thailand.

Cakerawala Platform ni terletak di Block A-18 of , lebih kurang 150 km NE of Kota Bahru and lebih kurang 100 km south of the Bongkot Field. Dulunya di kenali sebagai CTOC.

So sampai je aku kat Pengkalan Chepa Airport pagi tu, lebih kurang jam 7.00 am check in kat Carigali Hess punya counter. Dah dapat boarding pass kami blah. Pekena kopi jantan dengan nasi lemak kat cafe kat air port tu, mak aii mahal demo jual air ko kawe ..

Jam berapo lupo tapi kurang lebih 8.45am kami pun memasuki departure hall, then di hujung sana ada van menanti kami. Kami di bawa ke briefing room, biasa lah dengar safety briefing dulu. Nak gi mana-mana platform pun memang dimestikan tengok video briefing. Lebih kurang sama jer video clip tu.

OK kami menaiki MHS helicopter STE, chopper kecik, laju sikit. Perjalanan mengambil masa setengah jam jer.. OK la tu kalau nak compare dengan exxonmobil atau petronas punya platform.. satu jam, dua jam tu selamba lah.. banyak sangat tempat dia transit.

Sampai je kat Cakerawala Platform, macam biasa lah.. register nama, declare ubat kalau kita ada bawak ubat… err biasalah puak-puak ni suka sangat bawak ubat kuat hahaha.

Lepas safety briefing, minum dan makan.. rilex lah bukan datang nak gi buat kerja pun kan, datang untuk site visit sambil makan angin..

Pukul 10.30am kami kemudiannya di bawa ke luar living quarters untuk visit and survey area untuk next project. Mmm.. not bad lah platform cantik, maklum lah siap tahun 2004.. kebanyakan equipmentnya, piping, structure etc masih kelihatan baik dan cantik lagi.. kalau gi kat exxonmobil dan petronas punya platform mak aiiii macam nak runtuh dah.. 20-30 tahun punya usia tu.. tapi tua-tua pun itulah yang banyak berjasa kepada rakyat Malaysia ni.. cewah patriotik pulak aku.


Cakerawala Platform

Ok babeh, site visit done. Malas la nak cerita apa yang aku dah visited, itu rahsia sebab masih dalam tendering stage lagi. Photo tak banyak yang aku snap sebab aku malas nak buat permit.. ingat mudah ke nak amik gambar.. takde permit jangan harap, kalau paparazi ada harapan balik awal ke daratan lah.

So apa yang menarik di sini, regular crew CHOC ni terdiri dari rakyat Malaysia dan Thailand.. kalau tengok name list kelihatan nama Melayu, India dan Chineese dan nama rakyat Thailand. TV di galley ada 2 units, aku rasa untuk berlaku adil lah time tengah makan tu boleh pilih nak tengok berita Thailand atau berita Malaysia. So hiduplah mereka tu saling hormat menghormati antara satu sama lain. Platform Supervisor setiap 2 minggu sekali akan bertukar kerajaan, minggu ni Platform Supervisor from Malaysia next week Platform Supervisor from Thailand.

Nak call rumah pun mudah boleh pakai I-Talk card, sama macam Exxonmobil punya platform. Facilities pun banyak tapi aku tak round semua area lah.. alah sama jer dengan paltform lain.

Sedikit info tentang Cakerawala Platform ni.. Platform ni terdiri dari Cakerawala Processing Platform (CKP), Cakerawala Riser Platform (CKR), Cakerawala wellhead platforms A (CKA), B (CKB) and C (CKC), Bumi wellhead platform (BMA), Surya A wellhead platform (SYA), Bulan A wellhead platform (BLA), Puteri Cakerawala floating storage & offloading facility (FSO).

Pukul 3.30pm, chopper pun sampai dan kami pun blah menuju ke airport semula, so berakhirlah site visit kami pada hari tersebut.

Walau platform mana sekalipun kita berada, setiap platform yang kita sampai itu adalah rumah kita, rumah sementara kita.

Life has been crazy..

I am currently in the middle of preparing a major oil and gas tender for a very important oil and gas client and to be honest I am struggling with it. Oh shit, I have to study the tender documents, technical proposal requirement, prepare detailed description of workscope, project execution plan, PMT control structure, proposed project control system, flow chart of planning, cost control, invoicing and reporting, proposed detail tracking mechanism and bla bla bla… argh.

The closing date for the submission of tenders is 18 December 2008, but 14-16 December 2008 I have to go offshore for site visit.. imagine that.

My friend readers, I’m sorry to be so busy! I’m sorry I haven’t commented back to those of you that left comments. See ya later..

Offshore Safety Course

Salam semua..

Aku ingin berkongsi sedikit info dan pengalaman aku mengenai Offshore Safety Courses yang wajib dilalui oleh sesiapa yang ada hati nak ke offshore platform, offshore rig, atau nak kerja di atas supply boat. Tak kira siapa anda, anda wajib menduduki courses ini sekalipun anda adalah seorang penceramah ugama yang datang sesekali di offshore.

Bagi mereka yang nak ke Exxonmobil dan Petronas Carigali platform ada beberapa courses yang perlu ada duduki:-

* Offshore orientation
* Basic sea survival course
* HUET - Helicopter underwater escape training
* Fire fighting

Basic sea survival course

Tujuan course ini adalah untuk memberi latihan kepada personnel teknik-teknik dan prinsip-prinsip yang boleh digunakan untuk menyelamatkan diri sekiranya berlaku sesuatu kemalangan di laut. Ajal maut di tangan Tuhan bang, pantang menyerah sebelum ajal. Nak seribu daya, tak nak boleh tenggelam dalam laut.

Di dalam course ini, kita akan diterangkan jenis-jenis bunyi alarm di platform, bunyi production alarm, bunyi fire drill alarm dan bunyi abandonment platform alarm (err.. bunyi alarm yang membuatkan kita perlu banyak-banyak mengucap dua kalimah syahadah… )

Kita juga akan diperkenalkan dengan beberapa life saving equipment yang terdapat dalam liferaft. Liferaft ni ‘pelampung kecik’ yang terdapat banyak di platform seperti gambo di bawah. Bila kita dah terjun dalam kolam tu, kita beramai-ramai berenang menuju ke liftraft.. beratur sorang-sorang ikut giliran, tapi aku rasa dalam real scenario takde nak beratur dah..

Yang bawah ni di panggil capsule, ada engine ada driver.. boleh jalan-jalan makan angin.. :)

Kita juga akan diterangkan cara-cara menuruni platform dengan menggunakan tali (knotted rope). Kemudian diterangkan cara-cara terjun dari platform setinggi 15 kaki, campur tinggi kita.. wow.. jaga-jaga bang senak batu kalau tak kepit hahaha.. dan banyak lagi lah.

Tak pandai berenang? Takpe jangan susah hati bukan semua yang pergi course tu pandai berenang pun dan setiap orang akan diberikan lift jacket yang dah tak berapa nak timbul hahaha.. kelebihan kepada wanita-wanita yang ada operate masa melahirkan baby, boleh excuse.. slow talk lah.

OK aku cuba ceritakan serba sedikit satu persatu..

Jalan-jalan cari kereta

Mencari sesebuah kereta ni lebih kurang mencari calun isteri jugak kan, bukannya mudah. Apatah lagi kalau nak cari kereta second hand, macam cari mak janda la jugak kan. Kalau kereta baru tak de masalah sebab semuanya dari manufacturer, masih ada bau plastic lagi. Tapi kalau manufacturer tu Proton tak perlu lah check sangat, ada masalah punya. Paling-paling koman pun problem power window. Aku bukan tak patriotic tapi apa kejadah nak perabih duit atas nama patriotic..

Accident free
Kalau tengok dalam magazine musti ada tulis 100% accident free punya, tapi benarkah 100% accident free? Personally aku mungkin boleh terima kalau kereta tu digunakan di luar KL yang tak sibuk, pekan-pekan kecil umpamanya. Kalau kereta di KL paling-paling koman pun mesti ada straches, bumper kemek atau side mirror patah kena langgar di mat rempit.

Biasanya kereta kalau dah accident mesti masuk workshop punya, lepas tu repair, dan repaint. Memang mata kasar tak nampak dah defect tu. Paling kurang ajar kalau kereta tu kereta sambung, tapi hari ni sure tak lepas punya sebab sebarang transaction mesti melalui inspection di Puspakom, nampak kesan sambung tak pass punya lah melainkan hulur bawah meja. Beberapa tahun dulu kawan aku beli kereta second hand Honda Accord lampu berlian, siap dengan surat puspakom. Pakai 2-3 tahun JPJ tahan kereta dia dan bawak gi Puspakom, last-last kereta dia kena tahan sebab ada kesan sambung body.. tak ke sakit hati. Sampai hari ni case dia belum settle lagi.

Lady driver.. low mileage .. well kept
Haha.. lady driver? So what? Memang la bila lady driver ni kereta tu tak lasak, tapi biasa ke that lady tu check minyak hitam, check air battery, kenal ke dia bunyik engine kasar, timing belt tak tahu bila nak tukar etc.. personally aku tak akan terpengaruh dengan iklan macam ni. Lawak je lebih. Sama lah dengan low mileage pun dia orang boleh auta jugak, reset balik kemudian pilih nombor kecik apa susah. Well kept.. lain lah kalau kita kenal owner nampak dia park kereta dalam garage.. aku tengok kat used car pun siang malam bawah panas hujan.

Flood damage
Kalau banjir besar macam kat Johor 2 taun lepas, dan banjir-banjir semula jadi di KL tu berjaga-jaga lah takut-takut tersalah pilih dapat kereta yang dah tenggelam banjir. Memang susah nak check tapi kalau boleh bukak lah dashboard ka, bonet ka kalau-kalau ada kesan karat yang teruk, paling serius kalau karat kat electronic compartments macam computer box. Rasanya dealer tak kuasa nak layan permintaan kita nak bukak sampai gitu sekali.. koman-koman pun selak carpet tengok banyak tak air masuk ke dalam kereta ..

Service Records
Check samaada owner tu betul-betul maintain kereta tu, atau jenis macam lady driver tadi. Things to check is:

  • Minyak engine (lubricant oil) dan oil filter
  • Spark plug
  • Timing belt
  • Air cond
  • Minyak gear

Kalau orang yang betul-betul jaga kereta, dia akan ada service record ni.

Checklist

1- Suspension.. tekan kuat-kuat kereta dengar ada bunyi mengarut tak.. test drive bawak jenjalan kat bump.

2- Tires .. takut terkena tire korek punya. Lain lah kalau sukahati nak tukar baru.

3- Check the accessories, audio, air conditioner, alarm, headlights, signal and brake lights. CD player, CD changer biar betul-betul good working condition, bawak la CD ka, casette ka.. speedometer, petrol lid dan semua sekali kat meter box tu. Reverse camera, reverse sensor.

4- Engine.. dengar baik-baik ada bunyi kasar ka, bunyi piston bergesek ke.. kalau kasar tu baik cari lain lah. Kalau engine Vtec, especially Honda pastikan test kasi Vtec tu ‘terbuka’.. kalau vtec ada problem, sakit bang.. sakit. Sama jugak dengan engine turbo, kasi dengar relief valve tu berbunyi.. memang cerewet lah.

5- Doors - buka dan katup pintu berulang kali dengar solid ke tak, kalau solid tu mudah-mudahan tak sakit lah kereta tu.

6- Tukar gearbox mahal bang, check betul-betul.

7- Brakes- brake pad, kemudian check ada bunyi mengarut tak. Kalau test drive, buat emergency brake sekali. Buat jer, kan kita nak beli kereta tu.

8- Steering structure- Ambik selekoh tajam, check ada bunyik drive shaft ka, lower arm, upper arm, CV joint ka.. apa-apa lah.. kereta second hand memang banyak penyakit ni.

9- Power window - test semuaa sekali, kalau rasa nak hantar kedai selepas beli, ikut suka hati lah.

10- Interior - check roof, kalau gelap tu mesti owner dulu tu smoker punya lah. Seat boleh adjustable tak.., check ada kesan air hujan masuk tak.. ada panel ka, arm rest ka, coin compartment ka.. kasi bukak tutup semua.. mana tau ada yang dah patah ka.. dealer tak de masa nak cakap itu losak ini losak maaa.. jangan harap.

Itu antara check list yang biasa aku buat, tips dari kawan-kawan dan pomen kereta. Namun semuanya bergantung kepada nasib jugak lah kan. Nampak kereta lawa, baru cat, test drive OK .. bawak balik rumah tup-tup water pump rosak.. atau timing belt putus.. tak ke sakit hati..

Kalau hati dah berkenan, sila tanya ada warranty ke tak. Mana-mana part yang rosak tu mintak dia ganti terlebih dulu, biasanya dia orang ni layan jugak. Bergantung lah kalau yang jual as it is.. haram nak layan.

Satu case, aku ada called dealer ni.. tanya price sebuah kereta recond ni, dia cakap RM169K.. kemudian aku suruh member aku yang boleh berbahasa Cina entah lah Hokian ka apa.. tup-tup price jadi RM160K… 9K sudah less!! … hahaha tak pelik pun.
